Service description

Fast Elections is a web application, operated by Votivigy LLC, that lets an organizer build a secret-ballot election, invite voters by email, collect ballots, and publish results. These terms govern your use of the service, whether you're an organizer with an account or a voter using a one-time voting link. By creating an account or casting a ballot, you agree to them.

Accounts

Organizer accounts are created through Amazon Cognito, with either an email and password or Google sign-in. You agree to give us accurate information when you sign up. Keep your password to yourself — accounts are for one person, and you agree not to share your login with anyone else.

Voters don't create accounts. A voter's one-time voting link is their credential for that election; treat it like you would any private link and don't forward it to someone else.

Acceptable use

Fast Elections is built for the real elections of clubs, schools, HOAs, PTAs, unions, and similar organizations. You agree not to use the service to run an unlawful election, or one whose purpose is to deceive or defraud the people voting in it.

You agree not to use it to send mail to a roster of strangers. Every voter you invite must have a genuine relationship with your organization — the kind of person who would recognize your organization's name in their inbox. We may suspend or terminate an account that we reasonably believe is being used for spam, harassment, or abuse of the platform.

Elections & results

Whatever you put into your election — the ballot questions, the roster you upload, and the content you write — belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of it and we don't use it for anything other than running your election.

We tally votes exactly as documented for the election type you choose (plurality, pick-N, ranked choice, approval, or motions). If a tie occurs, resolving it is the organizer's responsibility under their own organization's bylaws or rules — we report the tie, we don't break it for you.

Fees

Fast Elections is pay-per-election: the price is set by the size of your roster at launch, per the tiers on our published pricing page, and charged once through Stripe when you launch the election. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

Refunds are handled case by case — reply to your payment receipt or contact us at jason@fastelections.com and a person will look at your situation.

Availability & disclaimer

We work to keep Fast Elections available and accurate, but the service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. On our free and standard tiers, we do not offer an uptime service-level agreement or guaranteed response time.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Fast Elections is limited to the amount you paid us for the election giving rise to the claim.

Termination

You can stop using Fast Elections and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing jason@fastelections.com. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, particularly the acceptable-use section above, with notice where practical.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
