Before you launch, use Email me a test ballot (available once your ballot has at least one question) to send a preview to your own inbox. It looks exactly like the real invitation and ballot voters will receive.
What makes it a test
A test ballot can never be cast — there's nothing to submit, so it can't affect your results or your voter roster. Test links expire after 2 days, so send a fresh one if you come back to review later. The vote page itself is explicit about this: it's marked as a preview and states that responses cannot be cast.
What to check
- Question wording and option text read the way you intend.
- The order of questions and options matches what you want voters to see first.
- Ranked-choice and pick-N questions behave the way you expect (correct number of seats, correct ranking interaction).
- Nothing looks off on a phone-sized screen, since most voters open email on mobile.
Test as many times as you like — sending a new test ballot doesn't use up anything or affect your roster's pricing tier.
