The paste format
Paste one voter per line into the Voter list box: email, name (name is optional). You can separate the email and name with a comma, a semicolon, or a tab — whichever your source spreadsheet uses. For example:
jane@example.org, Jane Smith
sam@example.org; Sam Lee
pat@example.org
Extra segments after the name are group names, and in a multilingual election a lang: token anywhere on the line sets that voter's language — for example maria@example.org, Maria, lang:es.
Lines are parsed as you paste, and any problem lines are called out individually — for example "Line 4: duplicate email: jane@example.org" or "Line 7: invalid email: not-an-email" — so you can fix just those lines rather than redo the whole list.
Automatic dedupe
Emails are deduped automatically and case-insensitively, so Jane@Example.org and jane@example.org are treated as the same voter. If a duplicate shows up as a parse error, it usually means a name was typed differently for the same address — check which one is correct before continuing.
The 5,000-voter cap
A single election can hold up to 5,000 voters. If your organization is larger than that, split it across separate elections, or contact us about your setup.
Saving
Once your pasted list parses cleanly, it saves automatically as you continue through setup, or you can click Save now. The current saved count is always shown above the paste box, so you can confirm it matches your source list before you launch.
Removing several voters at once
Every row in the voter table has a checkbox. Tick the ones you want gone — or use the checkbox in the header to take the whole page — and a Remove selected button appears above the table with a count. Confirming removes them in one step, which is the quickest way to clean up after importing a list that included test addresses or a group that shouldn't have been there. Voters you don't select keep their invitation and reminder history untouched.
Editing the roster after launch
The ballot locks at launch, but the voter roster stays workable. While an election is scheduled (future start), you can add, remove, and re-import voters right up until 2 minutes before the start — invitations go out at the scheduled start. While an election is running, you can add voters at any time; they're invited immediately. Removing voters isn't possible once voting has started, but individual entries can still be corrected (a mistyped email, for instance) — see Reminders & fixing a wrong email address.
